It’s been a busy news week in the pickleball world; here’s a quick run-down of everything that’s been happening.

• Thomas Wilson gives a long-awaited health update

• Pickleball Rocks founder & known scammer Rodney Scruggs gets raided by the FBI.

• PPA announces new Challenger series of events for 2025, for amateurs and aspiring pros. In the pro divisions, top 4 finishing players for the year will compete at an end-of-year showdown for a PPA contract.

• PPA and MLP introduced the formation of PPA Asia and MLP Asia, to debut in 2025. This appears to separate from PPA Australia, which included Asia in 2024.

• Tour stop calendars are starting to roll out for 2025 for PPA (events announced through June); PPA Challenger series (new!); APP (including NextGen), National Junior Pickleball, and PWR. MLP schedule is expected in the coming weeks.
