BREAKING: LA Mad-Dropped Anderson Scarpa

Yes, they just picked him up yesterday

Yesterday:

LA traded Blaine Hovenier to the Las Vegas Night Owls for Anderson Scarpa + Cash Considerations

Today:

LA drops Anderson Scarpa to waivers.

Yeah… we’re just as confused as you are.

Wasn’t Blaine a sub? Was Blaine even theirs to trade?

As discussed in the pod yesterday, when players are put on Injured Reserve, their replacement must play for two regular season events. It’s still unclear if this makes them a “signed” member of the team and eligible to trade away for cash. (Really - how?)

And now, somewhat unsurprisingly, they’ve dropped Scarpa.

How is the MLP allowing such aggregious abuse of the IR loophole? Other MLP owners and players have BIG questions. But will MLP fix it? Doubtful.

Anyway, moving on….

Premier Waiver period #2 begins at 12 p.m. ET. Keep an eye on MLP’s website for live updates, and we’ll recap them for you at the end.

Challenger waiver period starts on Friday. Both waiver periods were shifted a day; they were originally planned for 8/7 (Premier) and 8/8 (Challenger).

Here’s the waiver wire order:

Premier Waiver selection order: (1) Utah, (2) Columbus, (3) Arizona, (4) Orlando, (5) Carolina, (6) Los Angeles, (7) D.C., (8) New York, (9) New Jersey, (10) Texas, (11) Dallas, (12) St. Louis

Challenger Waiver selection order: (1) California, (2) Florida, (3) Bay Area, (4) Miami, (5) Chicago, (6) Atlanta, (7) Frisco, (8) Las Vegas, (9) SoCal, (10) Brooklyn
